Bayazid was a small boy. His mother was ill. One night he was studying by the side of the bed of his sleeping mother. Suddenly she woke up and told him to give her a glass of water. The boy took a glass to pour water from the pitcher. But the pitcher was empty. He additionally determined no water withinside the house. So, he decided to fetch water from a distant fountain. Then he went to the fountain with the pitcher, filled it and returned home. In the main time his mother was fast asleep. He did not want to disturb her. So, he stood beside his mother’s bed with the glass of water. In the morning his mother woke up. She became astonished to see her son standing with the glass of water. She took him in her arms with motherly affection and prayed to the Almighty Allah for him. Her blessing made him a great saint in his later life.

বায়েজিদ ছিল ছোট ছেলে। তার মা অসুস্থ ছিলেন। এক রাতে সে তার ঘুমন্ত মায়ের বিছানার পাশে পড়াশোনা করছিল। হঠাৎ সে ঘুম থেকে উঠে তাকে এক গ্লাস পানি দিতে বলল। ছেলেটি পিচার থেকে জল ঢালতে একটি গ্লাস নিয়ে গেল। কিন্তু পিচারটি ছিল খালি। বাড়িতেও তিনি পানি পান না। সুতরাং, তিনি একটি দূরবর্তী ঝরনা থেকে জল আনার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলেন। তারপর ঘড়া নিয়ে ঝর্ণার কাছে গিয়ে তা ভর্তি করে বাড়ি ফিরে আসে। প্রধান সময়ে তার মা গভীর ঘুমে আচ্ছন্ন ছিলেন। তিনি তাকে বিরক্ত করতে চাননি। তাই মায়ের খাটের পাশে জলের গ্লাস নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে পড়লেন তিনি। সকালে তার মা ঘুম থেকে ওঠেন। তিনি তার ছেলেকে জলের গ্লাস নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে অবাক হয়ে যান। তিনি তাকে মাতৃস্নেহে কোলে নিয়ে তার জন্য সর্বশক্তিমান আল্লাহর কাছে দোয়া করলেন। তার আশীর্বাদ তাকে তার পরবর্তী জীবনে একজন মহান সাধু তে পরিণত করেছিল।

Devotion to Mother Completing Story-2: Bayazid’s Devotion

Bayazid Bustami was a very pious and devoted young boy. He lived with his ailing mother. One night, as he was studying by the side of his mother’s bed, his mother suddenly woke up. She had been ill for a while and felt a sudden urge for a glass of water.

“My son, can you please get me a glass of water?” she asked in a weak voice.

Bayazid immediately stood up. He took a glass and went to the pitcher to pour water. To his dismay, the pitcher was empty. He searched all over the house, but there was no water to be found. It was late at night, and all the shops were closed.

Bayazid felt a deep pang of sorrow for his thirsty mother. He knew how much she needed that water. Without a second thought, he picked up the pitcher and decided to go to a distant well, which was quite far from their house. The journey was long and dark, but his love for his mother pushed him forward.

Finally, he reached the well, filled the pitcher with fresh, cold water, and hurried back home. By the time he returned, exhausted, he found his mother had fallen back asleep. He didn’t want to disturb her precious sleep, especially after she had just rested. So, he stood patiently by her bedside, holding the glass of water in his hand, waiting for her to wake up.

Hours passed. The night slowly turned into dawn. The first rays of sunlight entered the room. Bayazid, still standing, felt tired but relieved. Just then, his mother slowly opened her eyes. She saw her son standing there, still holding the glass of water.

At first, she was surprised and couldn’t understand what was happening. Then, as she saw the pitcher beside him and the exhaustion on his face, she realized the extent of his devotion. Tears welled up in her eyes. She pulled him into a loving embrace and, from the bottom of her heart, prayed to God for his well-being and success.

It is said that because of his immense devotion to his mother and her heartfelt blessings, Bayazid Bustami became one of the greatest saints of his time, revered for his wisdom and piety. His story continues to inspire countless people about the importance of filial devotion.

বায়েজিদ বোস্তামী ছিলেন একজন অত্যন্ত ধার্মিক ও অনুগত যুবক। তিনি তার অসুস্থ মায়ের সাথে থাকতেন। এক রাতে, যখন তিনি তার মায়ের বিছানার পাশে পড়াশোনা করছিলেন, তখন তার মা হঠাৎ ঘুম থেকে জেগে উঠলেন। তিনি বেশ কিছুদিন ধরে অসুস্থ ছিলেন এবং হঠাৎ এক গ্লাস পানির তীব্র প্রয়োজন অনুভব করলেন।

“আমার ছেলে, তুমি কি আমাকে এক গ্লাস পানি এনে দিতে পারবে?” দুর্বল কণ্ঠে তিনি জিজ্ঞেস করলেন।

বায়েজিদ অবিলম্বে উঠে দাঁড়ালেন। তিনি একটি গ্লাস নিয়ে জগ থেকে পানি ঢালতে গেলেন। হতাশ হয়ে দেখলেন, জগটি খালি। তিনি সারা বাড়িতে খোঁজাখুঁজি করলেন, কিন্তু কোথাও পানি পাওয়া গেল না। অনেক রাত হয়েছিল এবং সমস্ত দোকান বন্ধ ছিল।

বায়েজিদ তার তৃষ্ণার্ত মায়ের জন্য গভীর দুঃখ অনুভব করলেন। তিনি জানতেন যে তার মায়ের জন্য এই পানি কতটা জরুরি। দ্বিতীয়বার না ভেবেই, তিনি জগটি তুলে নিলেন এবং একটি দূরের কুয়ায় যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন, যা তাদের বাড়ি থেকে বেশ দূরে ছিল। যাত্রাটি ছিল দীর্ঘ এবং অন্ধকার, কিন্তু মায়ের প্রতি তার ভালোবাসা তাকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে গেল।

অবশেষে, তিনি কুয়ায় পৌঁছালেন, জগটি তাজা, ঠান্ডা জলে ভরে নিলেন এবং তাড়াতাড়ি বাড়ি ফিরে এলেন। যখন তিনি ক্লান্ত হয়ে ফিরলেন, তখন দেখলেন তার মা আবার ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছেন। তিনি তার মায়ের মূল্যবান ঘুমে ব্যাঘাত ঘটাতে চাইলেন না, বিশেষ করে তিনি সবেমাত্র বিশ্রাম নিয়েছিলেন। তাই, তিনি ধৈর্য ধরে তার মায়ের বিছানার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে রইলেন, হাতে জলের গ্লাস ধরে, তার জেগে ওঠার অপেক্ষায়।

ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা কেটে গেল। রাত ধীরে ধীরে ভোর হয়ে এল। ভোরের প্রথম সূর্যের আলো ঘরে প্রবেশ করল। বায়েজিদ, তখনও দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন, ক্লান্ত অনুভব করলেও স্বস্তি পেলেন। ঠিক তখনই, তার মা ধীরে ধীরে চোখ খুললেন। তিনি তার ছেলেকে দেখলেন সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে, তখনও জলের গ্লাসটি ধরে আছে।

প্রথমে তিনি অবাক হয়েছিলেন এবং বুঝতে পারছিলেন না কী ঘটছে। তারপর, তার পাশে জগটি এবং তার মুখে ক্লান্তির চিহ্ন দেখে, তিনি তার ভক্তির গভীরতা উপলব্ধি করলেন। তার চোখে জল ভরে এল। তিনি তাকে ভালোবাসার আলিঙ্গনে জড়িয়ে ধরলেন এবং তার অন্তরের গভীর থেকে তার মঙ্গল ও সাফল্যের জন্য ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন।
